This style runs true to narrow with a tapered fit. We recommend going up a half size if you run wide.
Mr. Colin is made on our Austin last, one of our favorite lasts with an almond-shaped toe. Shaped with a woman's foot in mind, this silhouette has great feminine appeal. The cork insole is designed to mold to the shape of your foot for an incredibly comfortable fit. If you’re on the narrow side and tend to slip out of shoes, these will be a great choice.
Everything I hoped they would be
I'd been eyeing the Mr. Colin's in cognac for well over a year and was over the moon once they went on sale. I was a bit disappointed to find they had sent the wrong color (walnut) but customer service was really fantastic and sent a replacement in cognac. I am normally a true size 6 in all shoes, and despite the recommendation to size up a half-size, I would actually size a bit down if you have a skinny heel or petite foot like me. While my foot width runs true to average and not narrow, the rest of my foot is slender and a bit bony, and the 36s were much too large. If you have that composition, or your heels tend to slip out of things, I would recommend ordering your true size or a half size down. While the toe box was snug in the 35.5, it loosened up after a few wears and now the whole shoe fits perfectly.
Also, just a couple of notes about the shoe, the construction is unparalleled and the finish divine. I SO appreciated the gentlemen's notch on the inside corners of the heels to ensure they don't catch on your pants. I really felt like this company took all the wonderful things about men's dress shoes and finally gave us the quality we deserve in a female-formed monkstrap.
