Dear Women Who Mean Business,

This is one of many versions of this letter I’ve written in the last day and a half in my attempt to share with you how the twelve women who run The Office of Angela Scott are going to make a change. Today we are donating a total of $30,000 to three outstanding non-profit organizations that raise Black women up. It will be a donation made not as a percentage of our sales or for marketing reasons but because it’s the right thing to do.

As a company that prides itself on supporting women who mean business, we don’t just want to sell shoes, we want to be part of the change in this world. Today is about the future. Today is about providing financial strength and support to the organizations that elevate and support black women so they can expand the platforms they have built in America.

We may be a small company but we hope that others will join us not just for the moment but as a step towards changing our business model forever.

Higher Heights Leadership Fund is the only national organization dedicated to building the political power and leadership of Black women to vote, run and become the next generation of political leaders.

Black Girls Code provides educational and inspirational opportunities for African American youth in the digital space by empowering girls of color ages 7 to 17 to become innovators in STEM fields.

The Loveland Foundation provides Black women and girls nationally with access to mental health professionals around the country.
